Day 11 : Croatia Saturday Oct 14th 2017

Day 11: Saturday, Oct. 14th : Dubrovnik

Today is a free day to explore and enjoy the city; stroll along the
Old Town’s pedestrian street, browse the farmer’s market.
We had time for a little shopping, light lunch and a swim in the Adriatic Sea. We just caught the sun set and off for a wonderful dinner. The decor and table setting was perfect and the food was even better than that. A wonderful dinner for our last one together. The wine was flowing and we seinaded and at one point the roof opened up so we could see the night sky. When we got back to the hotel there was live music in the lobby, Then the girls started dancing and many joined in and of course a conga line started and all in all a good time was had by all. We are off to the airport early and on our way home.
Our visit here was busy but educational and the coast was magnificent. The small towns and the guides made our trip wonderful. With our driver Sasha we all felt very safe even with the hair pin turns in the mountains narrow roads. Our tour guide entertained us with his stories, his jokes, his singing and even dancing.
Croatia is a beautiful country.

Overnight: Hotel Valomar Lacroma, Dubrovnik

Day 10 : Croatia Friday Oct 13th 2017

Day 10: Friday, Oct. 13: Excursion to Montenegro

Wow what a great day.
Today we travel out of Dubrovnik to visit some of the most
beautiful towns of Montenegro. But first we had a little adventure at the border, no problems but interesting. Perast looks like a piece of
Venice that has floated down the Adriatic. We took the ferrie to a man made island called Lady on the rocks to visit the most unique church and small museum. The dramatically situated town of Kotor is surrounded by walls hiding a labyrinth of marbled lanes and hidden piazzas. Budva is glitzier,
with multimillion-dollar yachts in the marina. We had some time to shop and walked along the marinas edge. We closed out the day with dinner at Jadran Kod Krsta and what a dinner we had, some grappa, wine, music and of course dancing. We will be submitting the video to “so you think you can dance “( keep your eye out for it…..we are good)
OK so I heard Best Day Ever a few times as good times were had by all Girls just wana have fun  I think we all had a great day  Sasha, best bus driver ever and Dragan our guide, too funny and does not know it For the ladies on the bus – look left and see where Madona had her concert.

around the spectacular city walls, the finest in the world, with
magnificent views over the old town and the sea. During our walk,
we saw many of the beautifully preserved Gothic, Renaissance
and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains.
We took the cable car to the top of Mount Srdj for more
fantastic views over the sea and the islands with great photo oppertunities and added in a scenic boat tour of the harbour and around the island. We had time to explore and finish up with dinner at the sea side.

Day 8: Wednesday, Oct. 11: Drive to Dubrovnik
We explored the town of Korčula this morning walking the city
walls and admiring the striking towers and the magnificent 15
th century cathedral built in local limestone. Marco Polo is reputed
to have been born here and we looked at what is left of his home and checked out the
panoramic view of the town. Then we take the ferry back to the
mainland and drive on to Dubrovnik. The ‘pearl of the Adriatic’,
the beautiful town of Dubrovnik is the perfect place for our four-
night stay at the  Hotel Valomar Lacroma, Dubrovnik. As we needed to pass a little time before dinner we stopped and had a wine tasting with cheese impromto. I think this was a great idea.

We stopped at a dig in Kupinavik (place of berries) and ice cream and cake treats in Jelsa. The ride along the waters edge with turquoise water was simply breathtaking. When had returned the bikes with a few aching parts we found out we had just done 35 Klms and I REPEAT 35 KLMS. HOW PROUD ARE WE.

This morning we went by ferry to the island of Hvar. We explored the town with our guide – highlights include its 13th century walls, a hilltop fortress that some claimed up to the top. There is a lovely main square anchored by the Renaissance-era Hvar Cathedral that was just letting out. The church bells were ringing and we had the afternoon to explore and spend some time by the pool. The water was a little cold but the views are spectacular. The harbour was fill with new and old boats and sail boats off in the distance. Lavender is being sold everywhere and there are lots of places to eat and just people watch. The walking paths are endless with views everywhere. We are here for two days so maybe tomorrow I will put the SD card back in my camera.  No kidding ! No photos today
