Japan Tour For Women

Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Takayama plus Kyoto and it’s world famous gardens

Japan is a beautiful, intricately designed puzzle, artfully integrating its proud ancient culture with the most modern of everything. Our tour is timed to coincide with the Cherry blossom (Sakura) season and we will marvel at this magical sight. We start with Tokyo’s full tilt ahead city life. While enjoying some of the most intriguing modern architecture, we also visit the ancient temple at Asakusa and make time to shop for spectacular souvenirs, from realistic plastic food to antique kimonos. We’ll visit iconic Mt. Fuji and spend two nights in the traditional mountain town of Takayama with its Meiji-era inns, hillside shrines and temples, and a charming riverside setting.
Then it’s on to Kyoto, the epitome of tradition where we discover some of the most famous gardens in the world, from the monastic stone garden to the stroll garden of the Golden Pavilion. With free time in Kyoto there is the chance to visit a silk dye house to see how kimonos are made or walk the back alleys of the Gion where geishas can still be seen on their way to appointments.
We’ll stay in western style hotels and resorts with hot spring facilities to ease our travels. Together we’ll explore the traditions of sake, gardens and geishas as well as the fast-paced city buzz and electronic towns – the fascinating juxtaposition that is Japan today.
