It’s not always easy to coordinate travel with a companion. Womens Travel Network was founded to help others experience the fascination of travel, the exploration, the connection, the growth, the sense of accomplishment, and the joy.
Our guests are women between the ages of 40 to 60, though some are younger or older. They are single, widowed, divorced or married but enjoy a separate vacation from their spouse. Many women come on their own – instead of solo travel, these women enjoy the camaraderie and security of being with a group. Other guests come with a friend, some with a group of friends, some with a relative – you may meet sisters, or a mother and daughter. Guests tend to share common interests, and are open to new people and ideas. Friendships that develop on a trip may last for years.
The world is such an incredible place, so step out of ordinary into extraordinary on the journey of your dreams.
Our tour leaders are knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. They take care of the myriad of trip details, making sure everything runs smoothly, so our guests can focus on spontaneously living in the moment, not just being on a vacation.
About the Founder
Debbie Ross, founder of Womens Travel Network has been providing travel services to her customers for over 30 years. With this experience she has realized the need for women to have an opportunity to travel without the single supplements or hassle of finding a travel partner.
Debbie graduated from Travel Career school with honours and received her CIT status in the travel industry, with top honours in Ontario. She has owned and operated her own travel agency and now owns and operates her own successful travel consulting service. Her travel around the globe has been extensive. Be it relaxing holidays, trekking or sports related, she has first hand knowledge of many varied travel experiences. As a woman, wife, mother, daughter and sister she understands women’s travel needs. In our hectic world of family and work life it is not always possible to coordinate travel with a companion. Out of a need of her own to find a group or organization catering to women with the same travel desires, Womens Travel Network was created. In doing so she hopes this network of women travelers and women tour companies will fulfill that need. About our Tour Leaders
Nanette Snel is a seasoned and passionate traveler. Born in Venezuela, raised in Holland with ties to Portugal, Brazil and South Africa, travel is in her blood. Nanette enjoys a successful career as an Interior Decorator and runs her own business, but she loves to take time out to see the world.
She has traveled as a guest on many tours. This has given her insight as to what it takes to be a good tour leader and she understands what it takes to make trips extra special. Nanette has excellent people skills and she is a very well organized. Her positive attitude and love of fun and laughter make her a great tour leader. She will make sure your tour is memorable and that every need is taken care of – with a smile.
Lori Dalton is an enthusiastic leader, personal life coach and gifted speaker and she has a desire to help others live their lives to the fullest. Lori believes that traveling is one of the best learning opportunities that one can have. She is a well traveled individual and as a tour leader with WTN she uses her excellent people skills to ensure everyone is enjoying, learning and growing while on tour with her. Lori’s exceptional leadership and communications skills, positive attitude and joie de vive make every journey with her fun filled and stress free. Bonnie Steinberg is a popular art instructor who has conducted workshops and classes in Canada and the United States. A recipient of many awards, Bonnie has participated in numerous solo and group shows. Known for her flamboyant and dramatic use of colour, her work has gained wide recognition. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Society of Canadian Artists and is a signature member of the Toronto Watercolour Society. Her paintings may be found in public and private collections. Bonnie’s painting classes are a wonderful addition to our tours.
Gillian da Silvais theowner of the Spa on King and author of the “Dreaming Press” blog. Gillian started writing her personal online journal in 2006, blogging the details of her life, travels, and photography. Her love of travel and photography has led her to far flung places on the map, and she has worked alongside and collaborated with professional photographers from Jordan, Paris, and California. Gillian’s journey has taken her by plane, train or automobile to various locales in North America including the Yucatan in Mexico, Vancouver, Nova Scotia, New York, California, Arizona and Hawaii; to the Caribbean including the Bahamas, Cuba and the Dominican Republic; and the Middle East, in particular The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan where she photographed the Jordan River, the Dead Sea, the Red Sea and the ancient city of Petra. Corey McCusker is a Mental Performance Coach, Motivational Speaker and Author. She founded Your Mind Matters, a unique private coaching and training company that helps adults take control of their lives by harnessing the power of their minds. Corey has assisted many people in supercharging their lives, be it their health, wealth, career, relationships or sports performance. She is also a contributing author of the book “The Power of Women United”, a Canadian best seller which focuses on how to build strong personal and professional relationships. Corey now wants to help women supercharge their travel experience. Her positive outlook, great leadership, communication skills and her passion to help people create and live their desired life is a guarantee you’ll have a memorable trip and enjoy each and every moment.
Cheryl Ward is a 14 year practicing Yogini and a 20 year practicing Meditator. She began yoga and meditation to invite inner peace as well as heal some physical challenges. Her desire to share this wonderful thing called yoga inspired her to attain her 200 hour teaching certificate in the Ashtanga Hatha Yoga practice in 2006. Cheryl has thousands of study hours training with world leaders, Sean Corne, Monica Voss, Shasta Townsend, Michael Siddall, Jennifer Reis & Leslie Kaminoff. In November, 2010, Cheryl obtained her teaching certificate in Primordial Sound Meditation as developed by Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon of the Chopra Centre in Carlsbad, Califorina. Cheryl brings her own unique style, sense of humour, creativity and compassion to each class.
She embraces the yogic philosophies, aiding students in finding that “feel good” place within themselves…..hence her motto…. “YOUR LIFE IS UNIQUE. DON’T EXIST IN AN ORDINARY SPACE.”
